The Phoenix tile contractor put more than 100 workers on site at peak, and now runs three divisions with a direct bid path for builders and general contractors.
PHOENIX, Ariz. — Elite Tile LLC, a Phoenix tile contractor serving builders and general contractors across the Valley, has completed the largest commercial project in its history: 250 bathrooms at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, for Dignity Health, finished one month ahead of the original schedule.
At peak production, more than 100 Elite workers were on site. The scope covered demolition, wall preparation, waterproofing, tile installation, epoxy grouting, detailing and final cleaning, with dedicated supervisors holding bathroom 250 to the same standard as bathroom one.
“Elite started with tile and grew because builders kept trusting us with more of their projects,” said Cristhian Montoya, founder and owner of Elite Tile. “The size of the team matters. What matters more is holding the same standard on every job, whether that is one custom shower or hundreds of bathrooms on a commercial project.”
Three divisions, one standard
Five years after its founding, Elite now operates three divisions:
Elite Tile: custom showers, whole-home flooring, countertops, slab work and fireplaces
Elite Dustless: dustless tile, flooring and epoxy removal
Elite Landscape: hardscape, pavers, concrete, turf and outdoor living
Each division runs its own dedicated crews under an experienced leader. For a builder, that means one accountable company from demolition to final walkthrough instead of separate subcontractors for showers, floors and countertops.

Most of Elite’s work comes from custom home builders, general contractors, flooring companies and restoration companies. Recent custom home projects include:

“I’m comfortable putting them in front of our clients and that says a lot,” said Michael Lusky, owner of The Contractor Guys.

A family trade, built to scale
Montoya started in tile at 17, working alongside his father, Ruben Diaz. He spent more than a decade as an installer before founding Elite Tile at 30. Diaz, who has more than 30 years in the trade, now serves as Elite’s superintendent, overseeing field operations and quality control.
The same crews, available to homeowners
Homeowners can hire the same crews that Valley builders rely on. Elite takes on single custom showers, whole-home flooring, countertops and backsplashes, and a supervisor walks the finished work with the homeowner before the job is closed out.
